Considering all cargo types, LATAM Cargo moved nearly 32,000 tonnes between the two markets during this period—a 27% increase compared to the first seven months of 2025. Around 75% of this volume consisted of general and consolidated cargo, including automation products, mining machinery, textiles, and commodities.
"The growth in pharmaceutical transport demonstrates how demand for specialized logistics solutions is gaining prominence between Europe and Brazil. Our priority is to support this evolution through a safe, efficient operation equipped for the specific requirements of each cargo type. At the same time, the 27% growth in total volume reinforces the importance of connectivity between both markets and our network's capacity to serve diverse economic sectors," said Jorge Carretero, Cargo Sales Manager Europe at LATAM Airlines Group.
To meet the specific requirements of the pharmaceutical industry, LATAM Cargo offers solutions that include temperature monitoring, climate-controlled rooms, cargo segregation, thermal blankets, and reduced ramp exposure time.
For shipments transported in active containers, protocols include power supply connection, periodic monitoring and follow-up of battery and temperature levels.
As part of its continuous operational enhancements, LATAM Cargo conducts annual procedure reviews, IATA training, issues quality notices for corrective actions, and expands Temperature Controlled Rooms (TCR) at various points across its network.
In 2025, the company was also honored with the Air Cargo Week Pharma Award in the pharmaceutical category.
CONNECTIVITY EXPANDS CARGO FLOW BETWEEN EUROPE AND BRAZIL
Germany, Belgium, Spain, and Italy were the main countries of origin for cargo transported by LATAM Cargo from Europe to Brazil between January and July 2026, followed by the Netherlands and France.
In passenger aircraft belly capacity, the primary routes during the period were Lisbon–São Paulo, Madrid–São Paulo, and Frankfurt–São Paulo. In freighter operations, the Frankfurt–Viracopos and Brussels–Viracopos routes stood out.
Expanded connectivity between Europe and Brazil has also increased cargo routing options. New passenger routes from Brussels and Amsterdam to São Paulo added capacity to the network, while the freighter service between Brussels and São José dos Campos opened a new logistics alternative connecting European and Brazilian markets.
INTERNATIONAL NETWORK SUPPORTS DIVERSE ECONOMIC SECTORS
LATAM Cargo continues to expand its operational capacity to keep pace with demand growth and strengthen Brazil's connectivity with international markets.
Currently, the company connects Brazil to more than 15 countries through a network spanning over 70 origins and destinations, leveraging freighter operations alongside available belly capacity across LATAM Group's international passenger network*.
In the domestic market, LATAM has led belly cargo transportation on passenger aircraft since April 2025. In July 2026, the company captured a 40.9% market share in this segment, according to data from the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC)**.
The combination of international connectivity, operational capacity, and specialized solutions enables LATAM Cargo to handle everything from general cargo to sensitive products requiring specific transport conditions—helping to connect production chains and strategic markets for Brazil.
