Costa del Sol is committed to Nordic tourism by showcasing the destination's attributes at the Matka Nordic Travel Fair in Helsinki

Wednesday, January 25th - Once again this year, Costa del Sol Tourism has been present at Matka Nordic Travel Fair, the most important fair in Scandinavia, which this year has brought together more than 1,000 professionals, destinations and tourism organisations from over 80 countries, with the attendance of more than 68,000 visitors.

Costa del Sol has participated with a stand of 100 square metres in which 15 tourism entrepreneurs, hotels and town councils from the province of Málaga, such as Fuengirola, Torremolinos and Marbella, have also been present.

As Margarita del Cid, CEO of Costa del Sol Tourism, pointed out, "the aim is to show the excellence of the destination throughout the year and, above all, to emphasise the low season offer, as the destination has an exceptional climate and a wide range of options to enjoy in the province".

Del Cid added that after a year, 2022, in which many of the expectations have been improved, surpassing some of the tourist records of 2019, there are still some markets to recover. This is the case of travellers from Finland, as in 2022 there was a decrease, compared to the 2019 data, in the number of Finns, both in accommodation and airport arrivals, 39% and 32%, respectively.

For this reason, the CEO has indicated that, from the entity "the necessary actions will be carried out to recover the figures before the health crisis, so participating in events such as Matka Nordic Travel Fair means positioning ourselves as a reference destination with a quality offer, which includes golf, culture, gastronomy and an accommodation offer of the highest level".

Among the actions carried out during the fair, the representatives of Costa del Sol Tourism have also attended the cocktail at the residence of the Spanish ambassador in Helsinki, an event organised by Fuengirola town hall aimed at tourism professionals.
